Though little is known of Shakespeare as a young man, and exactly what he did with his time before he was in London is unclear, he is noted as the greatest English playwright and poet, ever. He was an actor and writer with the Chamberlain’s Men and helped build the Globe Theater.
Shakespeare used his daily life to build his characters. He was also inspired by classical authors and borrowed from their stories and enriched them. All told, he wrote 36 plays and 154 sonnets.
